Representative Global Client Engagements
Global Information Technology Manufacturer
Our client consolidated almost 100 data centers globally into modular data centers that were fast track design built.
Each project consisted of a core/shell component and one data center module inclusive of four 25,000 SF raised floor computer room cells.
Day One included the building core and 1, 2, 3, or 4 cells; expandable for a total white space of approximately 200,000 SF.
We provided initial assessments, MDC design services, cost estimates, site due diligence, long lead items, and MDC commissioning.
7x24xforever in operation, the utility infrastructure is a parallel, redundant, and scalable Tier III (Concurrently maintainable) data center design.
These data centers are capable of performing in severe weather conditions.
ConocoPhillips
We created a 20-year Data Center strategy for corporate and global data centers, as well as a new ‘green’ concurrently maintainable white space.
To improve electrical safety and infrastructure reliability, we performed arc flash analysis and circuit breaker coordination for 15kV, 4160V and 480V systems on the entire HQ campus.
Core to this effort was retro-commissioning and dynamic balancing. This required coordinated effort with equipment manufacturers.
The result was reduced business interruption and increased confidence in the electrical network.
WESTERN UNION
This project provides additional space for Western Union’s European administrative and technical offices in Vilnius Lithuania.
Three 17,500 m2 (190,000 sf) ten story buildings includes a TIER III data center and robust technical infrastructure.
This technical complex is one of the first TIER III concurrently maintainable data centers in the region.
XLMC as owner’s representative assisted with site selection, design basis, budget guidance. Providing SME support to IT, design, and construction teams. Our scope also included due diligence services, commissioning, and acceptance testing of the TIER III mission critical infrastructure.
XLMC is actively leading projects in North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
National Wireless Carrier
A confidential wireless services provider has engaged XLMC as lead consultant to guide LTE physical layer improvements within Central Offices. Our scope includes identifying lurking vulnerabilities, bench-marking infrastructure, designing MEPF improvements, and commissioning.
We are also creating standard operating procedures and other foundation documents.
Turner Broadcasting / CBS Sports
Turner Properties has tasked XLMC consultants to provide SME guidance and commissioning for its global broadcasting clients.
These include CNN, CBS Sports, and Turner Broadcasting.
One representative assignment scope included acceptance testing of a new technical gear room for live sports broadcasting.
This TIER IV infrastructure is the broadcasting platform for CBS Sports, Turner Broadcasting, and Time Warner.
It consists of studios, production, multi-channel broadcasting communications, and digital media.
Capital cost is in the $25M range. Failure liability exceeded $1B USD.
As Turner Properties Commissioning Agent we performed a special commissioning during the 2011 Major League Baseball playoffs.
Acceptance and performance testing of UPS, cooling, automation, IT, and communications infrastructure was performed within discrete windows between the MLB games. Failure was not an option!
